EPF MEMBERS’ INVESTMENT SCHEME

Q1 What is EPF Members’ Investment Scheme?

EPF Members’ Investment Scheme is a facility that allows the EPF members who have the excess amount of basic savings in Account 1 at the predetermined age levels, to invest the amount in the approved ASNB funds. This facility is subject to rules and regulations of EPF. Effective from 1st February 2008, the amount of basic saving in EPF

Members can invest not more than 20% of their credit in excess of Basic Savings in Account 1.The minimum amount of savings that can be withdrawn is RM 1,000 and can be made at intervals of three months from the date of the last transfer, subject to the availability of the Basic Savings required in Account 1.

 
Q2 Can I use my EPF Members’ Investment Scheme to all ASNB Funds?

You are only allowed to invest in ASW2020, ASD, ASN2, ASN3, and ASG. This investment is subject to availability of the units of the funds.

   
Q3 How do I participate in EPF Member’ Investment Scheme?

Firstly, you must be a unit holder of the funds. Then, you may bring the following documents to any ASNB Offices. The documents are:-

  1. Identity Card and a photocopy
  2. The latest EPF statement
  3. A fully completed KWSP 9N form
  4. A fully completed Pelaburan Tambahan (ASNB 21) form.
All the forms are available at ASNB Offices.
   
Q4 Can I redeem this investment?

Yes, you may redeem this investment. However, the redemption amount plus income distribution and capital appreciation (if any) will be paid to EPF and to be credited into your EPF Account 1.

   
Q5 Can I redeem the income distribution of this investment?
No, you may not redeem the amount. The income distribution will be re-invested as additional units of the funds, subject to availability of the units of the funds. If the units of the funds are fully subscribed, the distribution amount will be paid to EPF and to be credited into your EPF Account 1.  
   
Q6 How do I know the eligible amount that can be withdrawn?

You may use the illustrations in the following table as your guide.
