
ASG ANNOUNCED HIGHER INCOME DISTRIBUTION

KUALA LUMPUR – Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) has announced higher income distribution for all the three funds under Amanah Saham Gemilang (ASG), ASG-Pendidikan, ASG-Kesihatan and ASG-Persaraan for the financial year ended March 31, 2008.
Unit holders of ASG-Pendidikan will receive an income distribution of 7.00 sen per unit (2007: 6.50 sen per unit), ASG-Kesihatan will receive 7.25 sen per unit (2007: 6.75 sen per unit), and ASG-Persaraan will receive 6.75 sen per unit (2007: 6.25 sen per unit).
For ASG-Pendidikan, ASNB had allocated a total payment of RM2.04 million for income distribution this year compared with RM1.66 million last year.
The payment will benefit a total of 5,171 unit holders of ASG-Pendidikan who has subscribed to 29.27 million units until March 25, 2008.
Up to March 26, 2008, ASG-Pendidikan has registered a gross income of RM2.53 million compared with RM2.06 million recorded last year.
For ASG-Kesihatan, ASNB had allocated a total payment of RM1.63 million for income distribution this year, compared with RM1.44 million last year. The income distribution will benefit a total of 3,239 unit holders who had subscribed to 22.51 million units as at March 25, 2008.
Up to March 26, 2008, ASG-Kesihatan had registered a gross income of RM2.54 million, compared with RM1.96 million recorded in the previous corresponding period.
For ASG-Persaraan, ASNB has allocated a total of RM1.36 million as payment for income distribution this year, compared with RM1.41 million last year.
The payment will benefit a total of 2,542 unit holders of ASG-Persaraan who has subscribed to 20.16 million units as at March 25, 2008.
Up to March 26, 2008, ASG-Persaraan had registered a gross income of RM2.11 million compared with RM1.83 million recorded in the previous corresponding period.
All the three unit trust funds under ASG are ‘Growth and Income Fund’ with different objective and asset allocation for each of the unit trust fund.
ASG is a variable priced unit trust fund where investors are allowed to buy unlimited numbers of units in all the three funds. ASG is listed in the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) withdrawal scheme.
The calculation of income distribution for all the three funds under ASG is based on the balanced of units held on March 31, 2008, which is the last day of the financial year for each of the funds.
The payment of income distribution for ASG-Pendidikan, ASG-Kesihatan and ASG-Persaraan will be automatically re-invested in the form of units and credited in the respective accounts of the unit holders on April 1, 2008.
Transactions for all three unit trust fund under the ASG have been suspended beginning March 27, 2008 to March 31, 2008.
ASG unit holders can update their respective ASG pass book at the ASNB offices and agents throughout the country beginning April 1, 2008.
