
ASG MAINTAINED RATES OF INCOME DISTRIBUTION

KULALA LUMPUR – Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) has maintained the rates of income distribution for all the three funds under Amanah Saham Gemilang (ASG), ASG-Kesihatan, ASG-Pendidikan and ASG-Persaraan for the financial year end 31 Mac, 2007.
Unit holders of ASG-Kesihatan will receive an income distribution of 6.75 sen per unit (2006: 6.75 sen per unit), ASG-Pendidikan will receive 6.50 sen per unit (2006: 6.50 sen per unit) and ASG-Persaraan will receive 6.25 sen per unit (2006: 6.25 sen per unit).
The income distribution for all three funds is for the financial year 2007, which will end on March 31.
ASNB had allocated a total payment of RM 1.44 million for ASG-Kesihatan income distribution this year, which will benefit a total of 2,654 unit holders who had subscribed to 21.07 million units as at March 26, 2007.
Up to March 26, 2007, ASG-Kesihatan had registered a gross income of RM1.95 million, compared with the RM1.39 million recorded in the previous corresponding period.
Profit from the sale of shares contributed 52.20% to the total gross income while dividend income from investee companies contributed 31.88%. The rest of the income at 15.92% was derived from investment in other instruments.
Based on the average net asset value of RM0.9929 until 26 March 2007, the income distribution of 6.75 sen per unit translates to a yield of 6.80%.
For ASG-Pendidikan, ASNB had allocated a total payment of RM1.66 million for income distribution this year compared with RM1.57 million allocated last year.
The payment will benefit a total of 4,362 unit holders of ASG-Pendidikan who had subscribed to 25.33 million units until March 26, 2007.
Up to March 26, 2007, ASG-Pendidikan had registered a gross income of RM2.05 million compared with RM1.28 million recorded last year.
Profit from the sale of shares contributed 53.42% to the total gross income while dividend income from investee companies contributed 25.99%. The rest of the income at 20.59% was derived from investment in other instruments.
Based on the average net asset value of RM0.9454 until 26 March 2007, the income distribution of 6.50sen per unit translates to a yield of 6.87%.
ASNB had also allocated a total of RM1.41 million as payment for income distribution this year to ASG-Persaraan unit holders, as compared with to RM1.43 million last year.
The payment will benefit a total of 2,390 unit holders of ASG-Persaraan who had subscribed to 22.27 million units as at March 26, 2007.
Up to March 26, 2007, ASG-Persaraan had registered a gross income of RM1.82 million compared with RM1.48 million recorded in the previous corresponding period.
Profit from the sale of shares contributed 49.53% to the total gross income while dividend income from investee companies contributed 26.26%. The rest of the income at 24.21% was derived from investment in other instruments.
Based on the average net asset value of RM0.9677 until 26 March 2007, the income distribution of 6.25 sen per unit translates to a yield of 6.46%.
During the function, Tan Sri Ahmad Sarji had also announced the offer of 3 additional free units for every 100 units of Amanah Saham Nasional 3 – Imbang (ASN 3) and all three funds under ASG subscribed by unit holders during offer period from April 2 to April 30, 2007.
These free units will be credited to the unit holder’s account on May 1, 2007 based on the Net Asset Value (NAV) of the funds on April 30, 2007 and will be calculated based on the total units subscribed during the offer period.
ASG is a variable priced unit trust fund where investors are allowed to buy unlimited numbers of units in all the three funds. ASG is listed in the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) withdrawal scheme.
The calculation of income distribution for all the three funds under ASG is based on the balanced of units held on March 31, 2007, which is the last day of the financial year for each of the funds.
The payment of income distribution for ASG-Kesihatan, ASG-Pendidikan and ASG-Persaraan will be automatically re-invested in the form of units and credited in the respective saving book of the unit holders based on the Net Asset Value (NAV) of each unit trust on March 31, 2007.
All the unit holders can update their respective ASG savings books at the ASNB offices and agents throughout the country beginning April 2, 2007.
