ASNB ANNOUNCED HIGHER INCOME DISTRIBUTION FOR THREE ASG FUNDS

Kuala Lumpur - Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) today announced the rates of income distribution for all the three funds under Amanah Saham Gemilang (ASG), ASG-Pendidikan, ASG-Persaraan and ASG-Kesihatan for the financial year ended 31 March 2013.

Unit holders of ASG-Pendidikan will receive an income distribution of 7.10 sen per unit, ASG-Kesihatan will receive 7.20 sen per unit while ASG-Persaraan will receive 7.30 sen per unit. The rate announced is higher compared to last year, each at a rate of 7.00 sen per unit, 7.10 sen per unit and 7.05 sen per unit.

ASNB has allocated a total payment of RM5.25 million for ASG-Pendidikan income distribution, an increase of 44.2% compared to RM3.64 million last year, which will benefit a total of 21,460 unit holders who had subscribed to 73.969 million units of the fund.

Up until 19 March 2013, ASG-Pendidikan had registered a gross income of RM5.72 million. From this amount, RM3.20 million or 55.95% were profit from the sale of shares, while RM1.60 million or 27.97% were dividend income from investment in companies. The remaining RM0.92 million or 16.08% is derived from investments in short term instruments.

For ASG-Kesihatan, ASNB has allocated a total payment of RM6.50 million for income distribution, an increase of 42.2% compared to RM4.57 million last year, which will benefit a total of 14,472 unit holders who had subscribed to 90.316 million units of the fund.

Up to 19 March 2013, ASG-Kesihatan had registered a gross income of RM7.49 million. From this amount, RM4.25 million or 56.74% were profit from the sale of shares, while RM2.25 million or 30.04% were dividend income from investment in companies. The remaining of RM0.99 million or 13.22% is derived from investments in short term instruments.

For ASG-Persaraan, ASNB has allocated a total of RM1.66 million for income distribution, an increase of 11.4% compared to RM1.49 million last year, which will benefit a total of 3,393 unit holders who have subscribed to 22.801 million units of the fund.

Up until 19 March 2013, ASG-Persaraan had registered a gross income of RM2.18 million, of which RM0.96 million or 44.04% were profit from the sale of shares, while RM0.87 million or 39.91% were dividend income from investment in companies. The remaining of RM0.35 million or 16.05% is derived from investments in short term instruments.

The calculation of income distribution for all three funds under ASG is based on the balance of units as at 31 March 2013, which is the last day of the financial year for each fund.

The payment of income distribution for all three funds will be automatically re-invested in the form of units and credited into the unit holders' account on 1 April 2013, based on the NAV of each unit trust on 31 March 2013.

The three unit trust funds under ASG are 'Growth and Income Fund' with different objectives and asset allocation for each of the unit trust fund.

ASG is a variable priced unit trust fund where investors are allowed to buy unlimited number of units in all the three funds. ASG is listed in the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Members' Investment scheme.

The income distribution for ASG unit holders who subscribed through the EPF Members' Investment Scheme will be credited directly into their respective EPF investment accounts.

Transactions at all branches and agents nationwide for all three unit trust funds under ASG have been suspended beginning today, 20 March to 31 March 2013.

ASG unit holders can update their ASG investment pass book at ASNB offices and agents nationwide beginning 1 April 2013.
