
Higher Income Distribution for ASN 2

KUALA LUMPUR:- Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB), a wholly owned subsidiary of PNB, today announced an income distribution of 5.20 sen per unit for Amanah Saham Nasional 2 (ASN 2) for the financial year ended 30 June 2007, higher than the 5.00 cent per unit announced last year.
The income distribution will involve a total payment of RM13.19 million, and will benefit 12,020 unit holders which currently hold 253.73 million unit of the ASN 2.
Up until 26 June, 2007, ASN 2 has recorded a gross income of RM27.75 million, an increase of 49.68 percent from the RM18.54 million recorded in the previous corresponding period.
Dividend income from investee companies contributed RM10.78 million or 38.85 percent, profit from the sale of share contributed RM14.76 million or 53.19 percent and RM2.21 million or 7.96 percent is derived from other investments.
During the year under review, the Net Asset Value (NAV) of ASN 2 has increased 40.68 percent from RM0.7824 per unit on 30 June, 2006 to RM1.1007 per unit on 26 June, 2007. Based on the daily average NAV of RM0.9471, the 5.20 cent income distribution will give a yield of 5.49 percent.
The income distribution will be reinvested in the form of new units and will be credited to the unit holders accounts automatically on 30 June 2007. Unit holders will be able to update their accounts at ASNB head office; ASNB branch offices of ASNB agents beginning 2 July, 2007.
ASN 2 is a variable price growth fund launched in 1999. It is opened to Bumiputera aged 18 and above. Investors can also participate in the fund using the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) withdrawal scheme.
